Soap Factory Floor Plans

My family and twenty-nine other families had a soap factory, which some date back to the 1500s. During the second intifada, Nablus was reoccupied in 2002 by the Israeli army. Our factory and two other family’s factories were destroyed at that time. During the 19th and 20th centuries the others were demolished by Israeli airstrikes. All documents and any recollections of my family's soap factory such as stamps, soap wrapping papers, and floor plans were completely destroyed. My father drew the set of drawings from memory of the outside building of the soap factory and the floor plan of the first and second floors. With this piece, I am showcasing and achieving through art a piece of lost history.
